As an EMT-B and a volunteer on a small fire dept. with only 2 ambulances, it would be a very hard decision to make. Recently had a 'Red' call due to an Out Of Hours doctor giving the patient a 'time' for their transport. They phoned 999, claiming 'unconciousness?!' (asleep) and took the only ambulance in the sector 40 miles out to a hospital! Hear Hear.
